Compare the glow-in-the-dark Praetorian Pyre with the variant-hunting Pandora Exclusive. Which 1/12 scale Valaverse figure fits your collection?
Quick answer
Choose Praetorian Pyre if you want a glow-in-the-dark display piece with a straightforward unboxing. Pick Pandora Exclusive if you enjoy the thrill of hunting for a 1-of-100 bloody variant and prefer swappable ponytails for posing variety.
What sets them apart
Both figures share the same 1/12 scale and adult-collector target audience, but their core appeal differs. Praetorian Pyre emphasizes a unique glow effect and a single, consistent look. Pandora Exclusive leans into collector excitement with a chance at a rare bloody variant and interchangeable ponytails that let you change her silhouette.
Price is also a factor. Praetorian Pyre retails at USD 21.34 (compare at USD 34.99), while Pandora Exclusive costs USD 20.69 (compare at USD 29.99). Both are similarly priced, but the variant chance adds a lottery element that some collectors love and others find distracting.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Glow vs variant: Praetorian Pyre guarantees a glow-in-the-dark effect on the figure and accessories. Pandora Exclusive offers a 1-in-100 chance at a bloody variant, but no glow. Choose glow reliability or variant gambling.
- Customization options: Pandora Exclusive includes swappable ponytails and an interchangeable head, giving you more posing variety. Praetorian Pyre has interchangeable hands but no head or hair swaps. Pandora wins for display variety; Praetorian for simplicity.
- Price and value: Both are similarly priced, but Praetorian Pyre has a higher compare-at price (USD 34.99 vs USD 29.99), suggesting a deeper discount. Pandora Exclusive's variant chance may feel like a bonus or a letdown depending on your luck. Praetorian offers a more predictable value; Pandora is a gamble with potential payoff.
